What I'm doing

Flipping and rotating my mattress while pondering the irony of having to flip/rotate a mattress (twin-size, but still fairly heavy) to help my back pain.

I feel like a hypochondriac, but my back, neck, and head have been hurting a lot lately, and it's getting really annoying. Well, actually it's more like really painful, not annoying. My neck is giving me the most problems, and I got a new pillow to see if that would help, but it hasn't. And of course that wouldn't do anything for my back. I also had a weird headache sort of thing all the sudden yesterday afternoon, right between my eyes. It felt the way it feels if you eat a lot of something really cold, or right after you take an ice pack off your head. It was probably just a random headache, but it was weird.

Some of it is probably caused by being on the computer more than I used to be before I had a computer in my room, but I don't think that's causing all the problems.

I don't know... I just wish my back and neck would stop hurting. :<

As our dear Republican't Governator of Kalifornia would say... "It's not a tumah!"

Do you turn off your computer at night, or do you leave it running?

Have you heard my rant about my mattress??

I used to have really bad migranes until I got glasses...but now watching a lot of TV or being on the computer too much without enough sleep gives me a really nasty headache.

Uh, I generally put it to sleep, unless it's been running slow, or something equally wonky is going on with it. In that case I shut it down and restart it in the morning.

What does that have to do with anything, though??

Yes, Rebecca, I think you said your mattress had a Rebecca-shaped hollow in it...did you get a new one?

Let's see, your mattress is how old?? I can't remember if we got it before or after we moved into this house. Oh wait, it was after...SHORTLY after, when we figured out that your queen-sized bed would take up the whole bedroom. :)

So, it's about 10-11 years old. I wonder how long mattresses are supposed to laugh with lightweight people sleeping in them?

And, of course, we're going to be absolutely WEALTHY what with Dubya sending us Free Money and all...

I think you mean "last", though I'm not sure how you ended up with "laugh". :D

In that book I'm reading she recommends replacing your mattress every 8-10 years.

Well, our mattress laughs when we get in bed...no it doesn't, it groans. Or yelps.

I did get a new mattress a while ago. It is huge and heavy and I can't move it myself (I hate that!) and is this "fancy" kind that you can't flip over because there is only the padding on one side. A week (or less) after I got it a giant dent appeared in the middle. I can't sleep on one side of the mattress...I just roll back down into the dent! Either it is a jerky mattress or I need to lose some weight :D I miss my old mattress!

Okay...I'm finished whining now.

Ugh, I don't like those new mattresses. They're supposed to not need flipping, but that's just crazy! I mean, you can rotate it, but that doesn't really help a whole lot. That's one reason why I don't really want a new mattress because I think that's all they make now, unless you pay a lot.

Laugh was a good word... especially since you did not specify whether or not you were in bed when you flipped your mattress!
