Saturday

I realized I never posted a picture of the skirt I made. Or re-made actually...I made a skirt a couple years ago and it never quite worked right, it was cut on the bias and I think maybe I got the fabric going the wrong way, or maybe the rayon just stretched funny. Anyway, I decided to remake it and this is what I came up with:

I tried to take a picture of it while I was wearing it, but it's really a paler blue than that and it kept just getting washed out. So I put it on the floor instead! :p

And look at the bug!

I don't really like yellow, but I like how that looks...they're supposed to be crazy bright colors.

I had something other than soup for lunch today! Ha-ha! :D Mom made deviled eggs, so I had some of those for lunch and they tasted SO good... and last night I had leftover mashed potatoes and piled a bunch of cheese, butter, and sour cream on them...that was pretty good too! At least I'm losing weight with this diet...unfortunately I didn't need to at all!!! :( Bother, where'd I leave my belt?...

I love the skirt. The color, the style. It's just so beautiful!! :)

The bug is very neat. Did you just snap it as it drove by your house? :) I kinda have a thing for cars ... I think I have my older brother to thank for that. :)

I hope you don't mind, I added you to my blog list on the sidebar of my blog. :) If you'd rather I not, please let me know, I'll take it off.

Oh, and waahoo for mashed potatoes and deviled eggs!!!

Thanks, Ana! I used Simplicity pattern 4543, but I think it may be out of print now.

Yeah, the bug just drove by, and he stopped to talk to the man across the street, so I snapped a picture through my window! :) And hey, cars are cool!
Yeah, I only have a younger brother, but my dad's been enough like having an older brother that I've got that covered too! Enough that I know stuff about cars, etc. that most girls don't, and I'm used to be teased and stuff. :)

And it's fine with me that you added me to your blog list...that's one of those things...I usually just add someone, unless I've seen them asking other people for permission or something. I don't know...some people always ask, but I heard one lady say one time that a blogroll is your own list, and you should be able to add or remove blogs as you like.

Yep, the mashed potatoes and eggs were pretty good! :)

When I was a kid, I wanted one of those bugs, the old ones. My great uncle had an orange bug with a black top!

They are made very uniquely... I had a cousin who had a bug and the acceleration was not a "peddle" but a wheel.

I heard a Christian comedian tell a story about buying a bug and not being able to figure out the "pictures" on all the knobs...

What a lovely gorgeous car!!

And now I'm craving deviled eggs...

Orange and black sounds neat! But how exactly would a wheel work for the accelerator, Mandolinartist??

It's a deviled egg-colored car!...well, not quite. :)

I don't know a lot about what's under the hood of the car, but I like to be able to know what make and model the car is, so I keep my eyes open. Although I don't think I've been teased about it. Even if I was, though, it wouldn't stop me from check cars out.

Thank you for letting me add you to my list. I think I'd have to agree about the blog list being yours and you being in control to add or subtract as needed.

I guess I didn't put that real well...I don't know a ton about what's under the hood of a car, I just mean various little things about cars, or other guy stuff like that. How to fix things on my bike, for example and how to use Dad's tools...my friends are always shocked when I start rummaging for tools to fix something! :p And I haven't been teased about cars, I meant teasing in general like you get from an older brother! :)

I guess I should have taken a nap instead of trying to write comments! lol!

As you can tell from William's blog the two of us have been traveling and did not remember your wonderful experience at the oral surgeon. Should have been praying as we are experiencing pain management 101 with Nick and his surgery. I actually took my wife to be to her Senior prom 4 days after her wisdom teeth were removed and in the "Prom photo" she looks just like a chipmonk. We actually went out to a fancy dinner but had to go back 2 years later so I could let her enjoy it on the night I proposed.

Aw, thanks for your comment, Kodachrome...I was up at four this morning trying to figure out why my mouth was bleeding again, and whether I should be worried. It was nice to find a comment waiting for me! :)

Oh dear, I'm sure I have nothing in the way of pain compared to Nick. :( And if he's complaining about it, at least he's not boring his readers by blogging about it like I am...

Wow, I can't imagine going to prom within a week of having wisdom teeth out! And then to not be able to eat anything...very nice of you to take her back there later! :)

Oh, okay. Well, then I can totally relate. I still do stuff with my dad and so I know what tools to use for such and such. I remember when I was little my friends were shocked too. :) But honestly, it doesn't bother me, I like to know about that stuff and I like to do "construction/fixing up," type things.

My dad used to shingle and side houses, poured concrete, tear apart a house only to put it back together, etc., etc. We, as his children, of course were called on to help. And I loved it! I still do. I love getting up on the roof, I love hammering, nailing, stapling, laying out shingles, rolling tar paper, pealing the paper off of the sticky part of the ice and water guard. Or anything else construction-y. :) It's great fun!
