Scheduling

Let me just start out by wondering why, if my laptop is currently in Greensboro (got there yesterday afternoon) UPS isn't going to deliver it until Wednesday? I could drive to G-boro, pick up the package (if one were allowed to do that), and be back in under two hours, and yet it's not going to be here for three days. *looks frustrated*

Secondly, why don't any of the stores I want to go to open before nine? I'm not working tomorrow morning, so I'm planning on taking Dad to work, getting some breakfast, and then doing some shopping, but I guess I'll have to eat a leisurely breakfast because all the stores open at nine.

I was hoping Barnes and Noble would be open at 8 or 8:30, so I could hang out there for a while, but no...not open till nine. I need to get a birthday present for a friend's birthday party, and I was originally thinking of getting it from the mall, but that depends on what I find at another store. I'm still going to go to the mall though and see if I can find anything at Delia's to use my gift card on! Luckily, all the stores I had in mind to go to are in the same general area, so that won't be too bad. Unless I decide I need to look somewhere else...hopefully not. (I'm not real fond of the mall, if you couldn't tell...) :p

So anyway, shopping tomorrow (but not before nine!) ...ooo, Colin just reminded me what I can do before nine...I can go to Lowes Hardware and get some ceiling fan light bulbs, because we're out of them and I need one in my ceiling fan! Okay...that'll work. Breakfast, Lowes, Homegoods, mall. And then I'm working in the afternoon.

I put my hair in curlers last night...I haven't tried that for a long time, like, not at all since I got layers in my hair last year. It didn't come out quite how I expected. :p There doesn't seem to be any way to get the hair curly all the way to the scalp, so it was very curly on the ends, but flat on the top of my head.

Then I combed the curls out with my fingers and pulled it back:

It's a bit frizzier than I wanted. :p

...and... can you believe many of these places close early too. The mall closes at 9pm, every day, even the weekend!

I know! Actually, the mall is open till ten starting next week for Christmas.

Aw, that's frustrating! I think we actually did pick up a package from our UPS once though... but that was a couple years ago, so I guess it could be not allowed any more.

And I think your curls look lovely!!

Wow...very curly!

UPS can always deliver your package early... I'd check the tracking site tomorrow morning and see if it's on the truck for delivery.

As of right now, it's still saying the 3rd, but it's left Greensboro, so it will probably change tomorrow.

Uuuhhhhh, Natalie...reality check here. Real curls are never NOT frizzy! :P At least, that has been my (painfully life-long) experience. And I don't know how to get curls to go all the way to the scalp unless your hair just "goes that way", which mine does not.

nice curls! what kind of curlers did you use? I usually have the same results when I curl my hair - I always end up putting it back or up. Yours turned out real nice!

just wanted to stop in and say thanks for the warm welcome to baby Claire! It's been fun to celebrate with all our bloggy friends!

Oh. I didn't know that, Jessica. :( So even naturally curly hair (unless it's super-curly) doesn't curl all the way to the scalp? wow.

Thanks, Trina! :) I used foam rollers. They have a plastic rod through the middle of the foam, and a clip on the outside. They're usually pink, green, blue, or yellow depending on the size and they usually have them at Walmart or Target. :)

I tried "rollers" that I made out of foil once...you twist the ends together and they basically work like rag curlers. They were certainly interesting-looking! :D I think you were supposed to be able to get them hot with your hair dryer and that was supposed to help the hair curl, but they never really got hot. :P

So... where's the post about the new laptop? :)

It's coming...I have to take some pictures! And I have to have time to blog... Maybe tonight. :)

It got here on Tuesday, btw, so they did deliver it early.

Glad to hear that UPS is still better at delivering than prognosticating...

So... does the beast work? :)

Right, the important thing is that the packages actually get delivered!

Yep, I'm using it right now! We still haven't got all my files moved over, but I've got my email and my bookmarks in Firefox, so I took it to work yesterday and finally got it connected there. Sheesh.

So, yes, the beast works...speaking of which, I don't see any 666 on it anywhere... ;)
