An ode to my hair???

So an eight-year-old in our church had to write a limerick/poem for school, and what he hit upon was how my hair drives me crazy sometimes...interesting.

Hair
There once was a girl
who wasn't satisfied with her hair
so she said it got stuck in a chair
and as long as a sloth, oh
who will help poor Natalie Roth?

They cut her hair
Oh boy, it's not hair it's
as long as a sloth she said, oh
who will help poor Natalie Roth?

~Micaiah B.

Hmm...I'm not sure what the sloth has to do with anything, other than that it rhymes with "Roth"...lovely. :p And I think my hair's shorter than a sloth right now... I'm not sure about this whole thing...

Anyway, I was told that I could post this on my blog as long as I also posted the trailer for the "Prince Caspian" movie (because he and his sisters like the Narnia movies a lot). Which is fine, because then I can voice my opinion of the movie. And that is: what? What? WHAT?!!! Why is there a hole in the train station? Why is Prince Caspian so much older than he should be?! And why does this look strangely like LOTR?!! And Susan looks vaguely like Arwen. *Groan* It may be a well-done movie, but I like the books so much I don't know if I could stand to watch any of the movies...I haven't seen the first one either.

Ugh. I didn't even watch it (I think I've seen it before though)...but this is one of my favorite Narnia books and it is driving me nuts that the Caspian guy is so old. I had a hard enough time with the first one. I really don't like the person playing Edmund. But you probably already knew that.

How long is a sloth?

Three words...Walt...Disney...Pictures...

When Peter and Caspian meet they are *both* boys, and Caspian is in awe of Peter because he's the High King!

And where is Reepicheep?

The first one was cheesy, and I agree, this one does appear to be a LOTR wanna-be. And I just know they'll try to wip up something touching between Caspian and Susan.

That ode is hilarious :D

For your information, Anna Popelwell (Susan) is older than you. And she does not look like Arwen! And Hannah doesn't even like C. S. Lewis, much less the movies! Caspian does not need to be a little kid. It looks really bad in the BBC production that was done quite a few years ago. I like Andrew Adamson's and Ann Peacock's work much better. Narnia is one of the greatest movies. And Rebecca, Skander Keynes (Edmund) rocks the socks off my feet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you EVER say you don't like him!!!!!!!!!!! What's your guys's problemo? I love this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and by the way, about the hole - this is a PREVIEW!!!! You're supposed to ask what's happening! They want you to see the movie!

Yeah, the movie looks intresting, though I don't like how similar it is to LOTR - the battle formation of the army in this looks exactly like Sauron's army in LOTR...

The limerick/poem was ... fascinating. :)

I have heard many people who are not looking forward to the Prince Caspian movie. I have never read the books myself, my "Books to read" list is so very long. But I hope to some day read them. I liked the first movie, but like I said, I didn't have any books to compare it to, so I can't say it was good or not good in that sense. I liked it in the sense that it was just a movie and not a movie that followed a book. :)

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe deviated from the book, but the Lord of the Rings series didn't...all the more reason to like LOTR better! =)

Okay, one at a time...

Rebecca, the variety of sloth I found info for is on average 23 inches. Sheesh, how dorky does that sound, I went and looked up the length of sloths! :D

Abigail, I hadn't even thought of that...well, in that case Caspian would have to be older than a bumbling little boy.

Movie expert, I didn't say anything about how old Susan is, she seemed to be the right age. Caspian doesn't need to be a little kid if you're not worried about it being accurate to the books. It kind of ruins the mindset of the story though...in the book he's kind of immature and is actually in need of help. If they have him acting like that with the age he's supposed to be in this movie, it's going to be really sad.

I say, "why the hole?", because there should be no hole...nothing happens to the train station.

And finally, Ana, you should definitely read the books! :)

Oh, Abigail, why do you think the first one's cheesy?

They are not going to have Caspian imature!

Hannah, I like the LOTR books and the Chronicles of Narnia...I'm just not fond of movies made from books. If they're accurate it's better, but it's still never the same.

Well, it helped me better visualize the book...some things (like orcs) are hard to picture...

The CG in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was truly abominable. LOTR set the standard high in this regard. Some of the "action" scenes with Aslan looked like they were done {gasp} on a Mac laptop.

The horrors! :)

Beth, Reepicheep will be a grossly inadequate CG creation; perhaps something on the order of those characters in the ghastly Charles Schwab commercials. He'll be voiced by Jim Henson's son... ;)

That reminds me...

Was that the BBC one or the new one? the CG was alot better on the new one...

I think he was talking about the new one...I don't remember any CG on the old one. Which I remember liking when I saw it 10 years ago :P

And I don't have anything against Skandar (well. maybe a little). It's just that Edmund rocks my socks off. And that boy is not him.

Han, I don't think the acting was good at all, and the whole thing just lacked the believability that the books have so much of,(even considering that it's a fantasy). It did have a few parts that I really liked, (Mr. and Mrs. Beaver were great!), but taken as a whole I was not impressed :)

I love the first Narnia movie, you should watch it! And I'll have to see the second one before I form an oppinion about it. (btw, I found your blog off of All That Is Good)

I was going to post what Uncle Jim said. The CG was terrible and the acting was not all that great either. There seemed to be a tendency to make the scenes too melodramatic. If you can't figure it out I thought Lion Witch and Wardrobe was a mess of a film, I could go on, but this would probably turn into a rant. They had great source material (I love all the books) it just needed to be implemented better in my opinion.
