Work worth doing

I found this post on the Wise Bread blog, and I thought it was interesting...

Find Work Worth Doing

I don't really have any comment on it, other than that he makes some good points. (One note, the article by Franklin Schneider that he links has some bad language, so use your own judgment on whether you want to read it.) His post makes sense without reading the one by Schneider though.

A lot of his other posts are pretty good too: Philip Brewer

Brewer's article is very good. I would go a bit further in your warning about the article he links to, though. I don't know what bit of bad language is left that he didn't use, but I do lead a sheltered life. :)

Yeah, I just scanned it trying to see what he was saying apart from all that...I got the impression he was mostly ranting and sponging off the government...with a bad attitude! Perhaps I should have said a lot of bad language...

I know exactly what he is talking about regarding those CETA workers. I blogged about some of my classmates and how they have a similar attitude a while back. Everybody kids me because I run 110mph when we are building but I see no reason to lollygag when there is work to be done. And since I am a weird and unusual person who finds any type of work, especially hard physical labor, ridiculously enjoyable I completely agree with Mr. Brewer.

Thanks for the kind words, and the link!

I noticed that even the brief quote from Schneider's piece included a bad word (expurgated automatically by the software that runs Wise Bread), so hopefully that provided a bit of a warning. I should probably think of mentioning it, though, if I refer to something like that again.
