Another video

I feel like posting videos today, so here's a Lego animation of the song "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton. :P

I liked that!
I see that you are reading Cranford? What do you think of it?

I used to make lego films when I was younger, though nothing near as good as that. I also want to say that Johnny Horton rocks! My brother and I were just singing "North to Alaska" a few days ago, which reminds me I need to find his CD we have lost somewhere.

Hi Abigail, thanks for commenting! :)

I'm enjoying Cranford! Have you read it? It reminds me a little bit of Jane Austen, just ever so slightly poking fun at the people in the book! It's pretty good...but then a book has to be pretty bad for me not to like it! :)

If you haven't read it, I'd recommend it.

Will,
how do you even make Lego films? I suppose it something along the lines of claymation...one little tiny scene at a time?

I like the song "Sink the Bismarck"...the world wars are a part of history I find interesting.

That and "The Battle of New Orleans" are actually the only two Johnny Horton songs I've heard! They don't play them on the radio much... :D

Interesting... Cat, where is this song from? This goes back, even before School House Rock. (Are you familiar with SHR?)

Anyway, Natalie, are you familiar with podcasting?

N said...

It was released in 1959.

Podcasting? Yeah, what about it? That was a random question! :)

"Conjunction junction, what's your function?"

Oh yeah, Conjunction Junction...

You could do your own videos with podcasting. (That was a totally on topic question...) Actually at my last few technology meetings, we have talked about podcasting, and we were reminded about when people learned with music, (Conjunction Junction,) videos, (School House Rock,) and now, ahem, by making and creating their own media... (supposedly)

Yes you film like claymation, record for a second, stop, move lego arm, record for another second, repeat for several hours to make 1 minute worth of film.

Haha...I love SHR!

The Cat feels somewhat insulted at the assumption that she would know about songs released in 1959. :o

Since she grew up in a home without TV she didn't even know about SHR (other than hearing about it at school) until she was an adult.

I read Cranford just a few months ago, and I confess that I was a little disappointed :o
I was hoping for a great story like North and South or Wives and Daughters but all I got was a picture of life during that era. Which I'm sure was her intent, and I did get a few laughs at how she managed to poke fun at the characters ;)

I had no idea when it was released Cat! You just seem fairly "informed" about certain matters... I also know you are often the interpreter of my comments, so I thought I would go right to the source.

:) We can settle it during our sarcastic fellowship time!

"Sarcastic Fellowship Time" just sounds...so...wrong. Shall we serve Krispy Kremes?? :)

Like that church in Illinois that we saw the website for? They had specified "coffee and donut" time.

Anonymous said...

Well, I actually heard of a church serving pizza and pepsi for communion.
